Microsoft Dynamics
me.microsoft
In 2014, Microsoft Dynamics launched me.microsoft, a social networking tool designed to bring teams together across Microsoft’s massive employee network.

My role
Role: Lead Product Designer
Responsibilities: Information architecture, Wireframing, Prototyping, UI Design
Background
me.microsoft had been in development for a year and as the product approached launch, it became clear that the initial visual design needed a refresh. My goal was to create a clean, LinkedIn-style profile experience, which was both visually appealing and familiar to Microsoft employees, to help reduce learning curve and improve user retention.
Approach
The MVP focused on the design and functionality of the me.microsoft profile page. A two-column layout was implemented, with the primary column highlighting work experience and the secondary column reserved for optional, dynamic features. The UI employed a card-based component system with color coding— an intentional departure from the Microsoft Design Language (formerly known as Metro) at the time.

Mobile me.microsoft
About 70% of Microsoft employees used Windows phones therefore the development of the me.microsoft mobile app was a big priority. However the mobile layout was optimized for iPhone and Android phones so any employee could access me.microsoft from any device.
